ARTIST'S STATEMENT

ARRIVING INTO CONSCIOUSNESS: A new body of work by Susie Dureau

My early experiences of nature have provided the structure by which I understand the natural world. I am the shape of my childhood encounters within the Australian landscape. This body of work is a journey back through the sights, the lights, the lines and the space of my life thus far, beyond my memories, associations and habits, back through the shape of my character, back to the wonder with which I first experienced the world.
