ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Drawing underpins all my work. It demands an intimacy with the canvas / paper, that offers me a way of letting the work evolve.

The possibilities and the surprises latent in the work keep me searching. I never know how a painting will look when it is finished - it emerges finally, and is simply there.
