ARTIST'S STATEMENT My first awareness of an interest in things arty was at a very early age when I was fascinated by the line drawings and illustrations of comics and cartoons and story books. I have always drawn. I did Art through school and at University and after years down the track, post babies, I got back into it through workshops and classes with some inspirational artists such as David Wilson, Rupert Richardson, Elaine Mortimer, Nick Canosa, Ross Paterson and Joseph Zbukvic My favourite medium is watercolour. I love the looseness, messiness and transparency of the pigment in water, but I also love pen and wash drawing and have dabbled a bit with acrylics and oils. Mostly I paint the landscape which I love. Having grown up out at Condobolin where the sky comes down to your boots, and having lived for the last 30 years in a most beautiful mountain garden at Old Bowenfels I am infused with and surrounded by the beauty in nature. I have been involved in Art Shows and Exhibitions in Sydney from time to time but I mostly exhibit at regional shows around the Central West, and have had some successes. Most recently (September 2011) I won the Acquisitive First Prize at the Condobolin Art Show I have had 12 drawings published in "Loreto Normanhurst A Century of Memories" (1997) I illustrated 25 pages in "Resting Beneath the Rainbow' by Tess Elliot (2007) and did 17 pen and wash drawings of buildings in Rydal for the illustrated map in their Tourist Brochure. I have done several private commissions and smaller pamphlets and booklets.
