ARTIST'S
STATEMENT
In my recent work I am interested in mixing the Australian landscape
with an Asian influence along with a contemporary abstract Western
sensibility, preferring to paint in a restrictive palette. What I am
hoping to achieve is a sense of calmness, a meditative experience.
CURRICULUM
VITAE
Born in Normandy, France, I have been living in Australia for 28
years. In France, I attended l’École des Beaux Arts, wanting to be
a painter. I later fell in love with photography, learned the craft
and worked as a freelance photographer in diverse jobs. One of these
was working in the Audio Visual Department of Elf Aquitaine Paris,
covering Formula 1 Grand Prix and racing cars all around Europe.
Soon after arriving in Sydney in 1981, I went back to my first love,
painting. I completed a BA in Visual Arts at UWS Nepean in 1994 and
have since then been a full-time practising artist, exhibiting in
both solo and group shows.
