ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Pat experiments with many different mediums, styles and techniques which allows her artwork to  continue to evolve. Her most significant  work may be described as that of an energetic, semi-abstract colourist.

Her favourite medium is oil which enables her to readily capture the hot whites and dazzling reds of the Australian interior but she enjoys the forgiveness of acrylic when playing with new forms of expression and testing ideas. She has recently discovered the joys - and difficulties - of gouache and ink and, in a new direction for her, smaller works on paper. She regards experimentation and "playing with paint" as essential to her ongoing love of painting.

She has been awarded a number of prizes since she began painting 12 years ago and has paintings in private collections in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and throughout Australia.

Pat is a founding partner of the artists’ collective established in December 2001 which owns and manages The Gallery Blackheath and where her paintings are on permanent display and for sale.
